Rain Water Tanks Installation
Installation guidelines are available on request for each underground and over-ground rain water harvesting system.
Guidelines for underground systems:
- Site Conditions will determine the procedure of installing the system.
- A suitably sized digger is required to excavate a hole for the systems and a crane is required to lower the system into position.
- Tanks must not be subject to buoyant forces during installation and groundwater must be drained from the excavation to avoid systems floating.
- A minimum clearance of 450mm is required around the unit and between adjacent units.
- In dry sites, we recommend anchoring the unit. For wet sites a concrete installation may be required or an increased number anchor straps.
- A backfill comprised of crushed stone or pea-gravel is used to surround the unit.
- The unit must be dead level and aligned properly with the pipe work.

Guidelines for over ground systems:
- Over ground Rain Water Harvesting tanks are supplied in sections and are assembled on site by our experienced crews.
- Tanks may either be placed on r.s.j beams (advised by Killarney Plastics Ltd) or a level concrete base.
- A minimum of 450mm is required around the sides of the tank for access and maintenance.
